William Keiter Sr. Obituary

William A. Keiter Sr., 82, of Easthampton, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Halifax, PA, on July 18, 1940, and is predeceased by his father, Paul Keiter, and his mother, Helen Leitzell. Bill graduated from Halifax Area High School in 1958 and stayed in touch with many of his classmates until the time of his passing. After high school, Bill proudly served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and was stationed at Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 54 years, Marguerite (Daignault) Keiter. They were married in 1968. Bill is also survived by his three children: Paul A. Keiter and his wife Angela; William A. Keiter Jr. and his wife Elizabeth; and his daughter Sue Powers. Bill enjoyed being the best Pappy to his five grandchildren: Kaylee and Cameron Powers, Brigit, Ester, and Evelyn Keiter.

Bill was known for his roaring laughter, his contagious smile, and his love of fishing and playing cards. He was an avid sports fan and cheered for the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Above all Bill was a proud and active member of the American Legion, Post 224, and enjoyed participating in their local events.
