Virginia F. Malanson

Virginia F. Malanson, age 99, passed on Jan 14, 2025. 

She was born in Springfield MA, in October 1925 to Victor and Dorothea (Frost) Carlson.

In the 1950s and 60s, she stood out in a male dominated trade as a female pressman. Her skill running 

dual head Multiliths made her sought after in the industry.  In 1957, she married her life companion Bernard Malanson.  

After settling in Huntington in the 1970s she worked in food services for Gateway Regional School District until her retirement. 

She learned to swim at the age of 70, which led her to many happy days at the Westfield YMCA.

She leaves her daughter Jodi Malanson, She was predeceased by her husband Bernard, a sister Dorothy and her brother Victor.
