Urszula Kowalski, 48, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family, on May 2, 2022 after a short illness.
Born on July 15, 1973 in Wolomin, Poland, Urszula was the daughter of Henryk and Janina (Mielnicka) Kowalski. Urszula moved to Chicopee, Massachusetts from Poland with her parents and sister in March of 1989 when she was just sixteen years old. She graduated from Chicopee High School where she learned English from her beloved teacher, Ms. Adelle Love. Urszula then went on to work at Carando in Springfield for over thirty years.
In 1996, she gave birth to her only daughter and “baby girl,” Izabella. They shared many adventures together as each other’s partners in crime. Urszula enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, playing DDO, and watching hummingbirds fly by.
Urszula is survived by her daughter, Izabella, parents, Henryk and Janina, sister, Dorota and her husband, Mieczyslaw, niece, Karolina and her husband, Evan, and nephew, Kamil. Urszula is also survived by her goddaughter, Paulina, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and her many friends and co-workers at Carando.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mitchell Funeral Home in Easthampton; a Catholic mass will be held at Saint Stanislaus Basilica in Chicopee on Friday May 6, 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Izabella D. Kowalski Irrevocable Trust c/o Karolina Weagle, 1430 Russell Road, Unit 9, Westfield, MA 01085.
