Timothy Hurlburt Obituary

Timothy Victor Hurlburt, 35 of Easthampton, passed away on September 15, 2021 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, from a sudden illness.

Tim was born on November 18, 1985 to his beloved parents Gregory and MaryEllen (Arrighi) Hurlburt. His grandparents Victor and Jean (Szary) Arrighi and Charles and Donna (Finn) Hurlburt predeceased him.

Tim leaves his loving wife Jessica (Staszko) Hurlburt and two young children, Leah age 7 and T.J. (his namesake) age 2, along with their family dog Lyla. He had an incredible love for his wife and children. His family meant the world to him and brought so much joy and happiness into his life. He was so proud of Leah’s dancing ability and was amazed at how smart and quickly T.J. was growing.  He especially enjoyed walking with his children to the neighborhood playground, visiting amusement parks and family vacations to Disney World. He was very much a kid at heart.

Tim was educated at NDIC elementary school and later graduated from Hampshire Regional High School, class of 2004.  He participated in hockey since the age of three and continued to play on several teams through his high school years. Tim enjoyed playing cards and serenading his family on a daily basis. Tim was an avid sports fan. Enjoyed watching all New England teams or visiting the ballparks with his father. The Patriots was by far his favorite team.

Tim was employed by Yankee Candle in South Deerfield.  He started with a temporary position and soon after was hired with a full time position. Through his hard work and dedication to the company, he was recently promoted to a salary position as the operations leader. His family was so proud of his accomplishments. Providing for his family was Tim’s primary goal in life.

Tim is survived by three loving sisters. They all shared a special bond and were always there for one another. Jennifer Wood and her husband Adam of Easthampton, Amy Pace and her husband Daren of West Springfield and Debra Saabye and her husband Jesper of Wilbraham.

Tim has many nieces and nephews, Matthias, Olivia, Isabella, Jonas, his godchild Julia and Andreas.  Tim was an amazing uncle and will be greatly missed but will never be forgotten.

Tim also leaves behind many aunts and uncles along with several cousins including his godmother Becky and many friends.  A special thank you to Matthew Cross and Chris Haskill for their love and support during this sad time. Your friendship meant so much to him.
