Sylvia A. Buzzee (Croake), 84 of Easthampton passed away peacefully on
February 8, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton. Sylvia was born in Easthampton August 14, 1933, the daughter of Daniel and Delia (Bourgault) Croake. Besides her parents and her beloved husband Wayne Buzzee, she was predeseased by her brothers, Jerome Croake of Easthampton and Harold Croak of Holyoke.
Sylvia is survived by her three sons, Wayne J. Buzzee of Easthampton, Todd H. Buzzee of Northampton, Gerald D. Buzzee of Westhampton and three daughters, Cindy L. Mitchell of Westhampton, Brenda A. Gawron of Easthampton and Debra J. Storozuk of Westfield, she also leaves one sister
Yolanda Korona of Easthampton, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Sylvia was raised in Easthampton and attended Easthampton public schools prior to moving to Westhampton with her husband Wayne Buzzee where she lived for over sixty years as her and Wayne raised their family. Sylvia returned to her hometown of Easthampton three years ago. Sylvia was employed as a clerk in the Mailroom at the Daily Hampshire Gazette in Northampton prior to retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Westhampton Congregational Church. Sylvia loved her family and her animals. She was an avid Pitch player, Bingo player and was very passionate about her gardening and her crocheting and was also a former member of the Westhampton Mother’s Club.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 14th at 11.30am at Mitchell's Funeral Home,
15 Park Street, Easthampton, followed by burial in
Brookside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 am until time of the service. Gifts in Sylvia’s memory may be given to Shriners Hospital for Children, Springfield, MA or to the local MSPCA.
