Sigmond Wernik, age 87, of Easthampton passed away on June 17, 2024, after a short illness. He was born in Easthampton on September 17, 1936, to the late Sigmond and Josephine (Sudnick) Wernik and was a 1954 graduate of Easthampton High School. Sigmond received a bachelor’s degree in business from AIC in 1958. Sigmond served in the US Army Following his service, Sigmond worked for and then retired in 1998 after 37 years from Aetna L + C.
Sigmond is survived by his sons, Christopher and his wife Laurie of Derry NH and Jonathan and his wife Kellie of Plymouth Ma. Two grandchildren Kaitlyn and Ian Wernik
He is also survived by his sister, Elaine (Wernik) and her husband Carl Majeskey of Georgetown, MA; his sister-in-law Susan (O’Niel) Wernik, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sigmond was predeceased by his former wife, Theresa (Ceberek) Wernik

A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday June 27 at 10am at Our Lady of the Valley Parrish followed by burial in St Stanislaus Cemetery all of Easthampton Calling hours will be Wednesday June 26 at the Mitchell Funeral Home from 4 to 6pm
In lieu of flowers donations in Sigmond’s name may be made to the American Legion Post 224 Pleasant St Easthampton Ma 01027
