Shirley Szczypta

Southampton, MA - Shirley Szczypta 90, of Southampton died August 15, 2024, at home. She was born in Southampton on June 6, 1934 the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Dolega) Szczypta. She attended Southampton Schools and graduated from Easthampton High School Class of 1952. She was employed by the former First National Bank of Easthampton for many years, where she became Treasurer. Shirley retired from the former Baybank. Shirley was a member of former Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish where she was Treasurer of various sodalities and clubs. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Church and the Holy Rosary Sodality. She is survived by nephews Edward Banas and wife Brenda, John Banas and niece Anne Clark and her husband Robert. And grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by five brothers Stanley, Walter, Edward, Henry, and Max, four sisters Nellie Golash, Stella Banas, Jeannette and Helen Szczypta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday August 22 at 10am in Our Lady of the Valley Church, 33 Adams Street followed by burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery all of Easthampton.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday August 21 from 4 to 6pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Easthampton.
