Robert C. Fox, Jr., 89 of Westhampton died Friday April 22, in Northampton. He was born February 26, 1933, in Northampton, the son of Robert and Ruth (Holmes) Fox. He was raised in the Bay State section of Northampton and attended local schools and graduated from Northampton High School. Robert was employed by Smith College in the Food Service Custodial area retiring in 1998. He made his home in Westhampton since 1955. Robert served in the US Army, in theater of operations during the Korean Conflict. He transitioned to the Army Reserves in 1955 and received an Honorable Discharge in 1961.
Bob enjoyed Candlepin Bowling, Fishing and Gardening. He gave up Bowling and Fishing upon retirement to spend more time with his wife. He had a garden every year, although it became smaller as he aged so he could give it the care he felt it deserved. He was always proud of his garden and was generous with the crops it produced.
Robert’s wife Alice (Henderson) Fox, predeceased him in 2016.
He is survived by four sons Alan R. Fox of W.VA., Donald E. Fox of and Guy B. Fox both of Westhampton and Robert C. Fox lll, of Holyoke, and his sister Barbara Gauger of Southampton, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be in Westhampton Center Cemetery. Mitchell Funeral Home in Easthampton in charge of arrangements.
