Raymond Cushing

Raymond H. Cushing, Jr. 64, of Easthampton died unexpectedly, Monday May 13, at
Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton. He was born in Springfield Sept. 7, 1948 the
son of the late Raymond H. Sr., and Roberta Urban Cushing Cowell. He grew up in
Cummington attending schools and graduating from Wahconah Regional High School in
Dalton, Class of 1965. He graduated from Western New England College in 1970
receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in mathematics. He was a veteran of the Vietnam
Conflict serving in the Navy aboard the USS Harold Holt.
Raymond was employed by Mass Mutual Insurance Company as a Systems Specialist
retiring in 2011.He is survived by his wife Donna Drew Cushing, two brothers Thomas Cowell
of Bellingham, Lorin Cowell of Brooklyn, NY, two sisters Judith Meredith of Dorchester,
MA and Lynn Cowell of Leeds and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by
two brothers Robert and John Cowell.
Friends may call at the Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Easthampton Monday
May 20 from 4-8pm.
There will be a private funeral service on Tuesday May 21, at the Mass. Veterans
Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
