It is with great sadness that the family and friends of Priscilla Pike, announce her sudden death on Sunday, November 8, 2021, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was 89 years old.
Pris was born and brought up in the town of Cheshire, MA. Following her graduation from high school, she pursued her postsecondary education at the University of Massachusetts and Smith College. This led to her lifelong career of 40+ years in the education of students who were deaf at Clarke School for the Deaf in Northampton. She was a faithful and active member of longstanding of the First Churches of Northampton.
Pris loved people and enjoyed nothing more than long chats with people on a wide variety of topics. She also loved music of all kinds and pursued a desire to learn to play the violin in her retirement. She was also an avid reader and loved to crochet.
She will be sorely missed by her cousin, Sherry Marsland, (Colorado), her much-loved and dearest friends of many years, Holly Starcom, Anna Murphy and Wendy Williams (Southampton), and Linda MacDonald (Nova Scotia, Canada), as well as her many friends at the Inn of the Lathrop Retirement Community, where she has resided for the last 10 years.
Her remains have been cremated according to her wishes. A Memorial Service and Interment will be announced at a later date.
All details are being handled by Mitchell’s Funeral Home in Easthampton.
