Phyllis Press 94, formerly of Easthampton died October 20, 2021, at Linda Manor extended Care Facility. She was born in Chesterfield on January 18, 1927, the daughter of Homer and Grace Morey Granger. She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1944 and former Northampton Commercial College in 1946. She was the widow of William Press who died in 1990. She was employed by the former Stevens and Dunphy Law office as a Legal Secretary, she retired in 1980 after 27 years.
Phyllis and her husband enjoyed camping and fishing in Maine, and they were avid cruisers.
Phyllis was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Easthampton for over 50 years, and a member of the Bethlehem Chapter of the order of the Eastern Star in Williamsburg. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a brother Walter Granger and a sister Connie Arnold. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
The Family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the wonderful caretakers at Linda Manor Nursing Home in Leeds, MA for the kindness, caring and affection they showed Phyllis for the past five years and for the helpfulness and support they have shown her family as well.
Graveside service in East Street Cemetery, Easthampton at 11 am on Wednesday October 27.
