Phillip M. Kessler, 97, passed away peacefully at home on May 9, 2023. With loving and compassionate care he was able to live and stay comfortably in his home. He was born in Easthampton on August 3, 1925, the son of the late William J. and Margaret (Martin) Kessler.
Phillip was educated in local schools and Smith Vocational School. He was employed by the Fisk-Uniroyal Company in Chicopee Falls, MA for 30 years. He was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Phillip enjoyed his cottage and later a new home on Ashmere Lake for 54 years. Many, especially his nieces and nephews, have fond memories of time spent at “Uncle Phillip’s camp”. He also enjoyed traveling to New Mexico to visit his sister, trips to Kennebunk and Goose Rocks Beach, Maine and to Cape Cod.
He is survived by his sister Margaret Mohr of Easthampton and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Ruth Hemmer and Alice Kessler of Easthampton, Louise Chase of New Mexico, and two brothers, William Kessler and Frank Kessler of Easthampton.
Calling hours will be at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Easthampton on Tuesday, May 16th from 4 to 6 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday May17, at 11 am in Brookside Cemetery, Easthampton
