HOLYOKE-Peter M. Skrodzki, 75, of Keyes Rd. in Holyoke passed away at his home surrounded by family, after a yearlong battle with colon cancer. Peter was born in Holyoke, a son of the late Chester and Eleanore (Manuello) Skrodzki. He attended Southampton schools and graduated from Smith Vocational and Agricultural High school in Northampton. Peter was the owner of Peers Brothers Trucking in Westfield. He logged over 550 million accident-free miles over his 40+ year career. Peter loved going to tractor pulls and participated in as many as possible. He was especially proud of his vintage 1950 Cockshutt tractor which he restored. He was very handy with a wrench and loved to repair older tractors for friends. He enjoyed the simple joys in life, taking rides with family and friends, often times to Vermont and New Hampshire. Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Cynthia (Rix) Skrodzki. His siblings; Chester Skrodzki and Doris of Richland, TX., Paul Skrodzki and Carol of Southampton, Mark Skrodzki and Joleen of Chicopee, Laura Ducharme and George of West Springfield and Ellen Hall of Florida. He also leaves his mother and father in law, Joan & Donald Rix and sister in law, Donna Rix and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A brother Fred predeceased him. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AT THE MITCHELL FUNERAL HOME, 15 PARK STREET, EASTHAMPTON ON SATURDAY, OCT 15 FROM 2:00 TO 4:00 P.M. INTERMENT OF HIS ASHES WILL BE AT A LATER DATE.
