Neil Malanson Obituary

Neil G. Malanson , 71, of Southampton died Saturday August 23, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield. He was born in Holyoke Jan. 16, 1943 the son of the late Louis and Amelia (Linko) Malanson. He attended schools in Southampton and Easthampton High School. He entered the Navy during the Vietnam Era, serving for 5years.

After returning to Southampton, he was employed by Sterling Radiators, then as a Mason Tender, retiring from O’Leary Co. of Southampton.Neil enjoyed hunting, golfing and horsemanship and was a past President of Hampshire County Riding Club.

He is survived by two sons Dale and Craig Malanson both of Southampton, one sister Jane Kyle of Florida, three grandchildren Sarah, Ella and Tricia Malanson, two nephews David and Bart Kyle and his special companion Candace Barber of Westfield.

Funeral with Military Honors will be Friday August 29, at 10 am in Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Easthampton, followed by burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley.

Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Thursday August 28, from 4-8pm.

In lieu of flowers gifts in  Neil’s memory may be given to American Cancer Society, 59 Bobala Road, Holyoke,MA01040 or to Holyoke Soldiers’ ,Home, 110 Cherry Street, Holyoke,MA01040.
