Myrtis Duso

It is with great sadness that the family of Myrtis N. Duso, age 78 of Easthampton, Ma announce her passing on Sunday, June 13, 2021.  She was born on April 2, 1943, in Northampton, Ma to the late Walter and Phyllis (Pursche) Duso. Myrtis worked at Lesnow’s Manufacturing Co. for many years. Later in her life she attended Holyoke Community College to pursue a degree in Early Elementary Education.  She worked in this field for several years caring for children and eventually retired. She enjoyed being creative with her hands, whether it was painting, drawing, or crocheting something with love for a family member or friend.  Myrtis was a lover of all animals and supported the work of nonprofit organizations that protected animals.  She enjoyed opening her home to her family and friends to celebrate the holidays and summer picnics. Myrtis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She was preceded by three brothers, Oscar Duso of Westfield, Carlton Duso of Russell, and Roger Duso of Westhampton.  Myrtis leaves behind one sister, Karen Black of Salina, Utah, two brothers Arthur Duso of Easthampton, and Randolph Duso of Northfield, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved pets.  Myrtis will be remembered and missed by all that loved her.

The family will have visiting hours on Monday June 21st at Mitchell Funeral Home 15 Park St. Easthampton, Ma from 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm.  Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday June 22nd at 10:00 am at the funeral home, with a burial to follow at Brookside Cemetery on Williston Ave Easthampton, Ma.

Her family has requested that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
