Marilyn Cernak

Marilyn Cernak, 80, of  Easthampton, MA, passed away on July 5, 2024.   She was  born on May 18,1944, in Northampton, MA.  Marilyn was a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.  She was lovingly called “Meeka”, initiated by her granddaughter, Lauren.  She graduated from St. Michael’s High School and Northampton Commercial College.  She  worked  at the NET&T Company and at the Easthampton High School until retiring in 2011.  Her deepest love was her family and dear friends- Marilyn was married to David Cernak for 59 years, a loving mother to Kelly Cahill and Brian Cernak,  and an extremely proud grandmother to Lauren (Jack) and Nicholas.   Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Charles O’Connell, and her son-in-law, Kevin Cahill.  Meeka had a great smile, kind heart, and strong desire to help people.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 13 at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Easthampton, MA.  Calling hours will be Friday, July 12, at the Mitchell Funeral Home from 4 to 6 PM.
