Margaret (Perkins) (Hayes) Kelley 101, passed away on March 14, 2023, she was born in Northampton April 21, 1921, the daughter of the late Enoch and Elizabeth Perkins. She attended schools in Northampton, graduated from Northampton High School in 1937, from Smith College in 1941, Magna Cumlaude and Phi Bata Kappa Society, master’s degree from U of Mass in1943 and graduated from Mass General Hospital in 1946 as an RN.
Margaret married Edwin S. Hayes in 1947, He died in 1978. She later married Carlton C. Kelley in 1982.
Peg worked as an RN at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, and as office nurse for Drs. Edward Manwell and David Jennison. And retiring from Visiting Nursing Association in 1986. Margaret was a longtime member of Westhampton Congregational Church for over 80 years, serving on the Board of Deacon and several other committees, member, and past chairman of Westhampton COA, she received Boston Post Cane in 2016 as the oldest resident of Westhampton.
Margaret is survived by her children David Hayes and wife Donna one grandchild Karl, Robert Hayes, Susan (Hayes) Martin, stepchildren Donald Kelley, Judy Delaney, several step grandchildren and three great grandchildren, she was predeceased by her stepchildren Daniel, Joyce, and David Kelley
