Loretta Day Obituary

Loretta Day, 83, of West Granville, MA passed away peacefully on January 2, 2023, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Loretta grew up in Farmington, CT, married her beloved husband John Day in 1960. A few years later they moved to their farm in West Granville, MA. Loretta was a stay at home mother for their two daughters and enjoyed having dinner with her neighbors, roller skating, dancing, long car rides and tag sales. Music was her passion and she took every opportunity to listen and dance. She and her husband loved traveling to visit family, spending time in Oregon, Florida, California and more whenever they could. Any cat that crossed her path found a meal and a loving demeanor, coming and going as they pleased, she loved them all. Often described as soft spoken, Loretta always spoke her mind truthfully and was willing to help others without needing to be asked.  Loretta will be dearly missed and always remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and neighbor.

Loretta was predeceased by her parents Ethel and Maurice Davis, her sister Bette Hubbard, and her daughter Bobbie Jo Day. Loretta is survived by her husband John Day, her brother Maurice Davis, her daughter Lori (day) Nelson, and her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. A celebration of life will be held in Loretta's honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Loretta’s loved ones to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at West Granville Church on July 23rd, 2023 at 11am, reception to follow.
