Linda Gliniak Obituary

Linda M Gliniak passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 13th in the comfort of her home after a brief illness, not covid. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and close friends.

Linda was a lifelong resident of Easthampton MA, born in 1946 to Ralph and Gertrude Hatch. She leaves her husband of 56 years Matthew Gliniak Jr. Her son Matthew Gliniak III and his wife Amy of Southampton, Son Alan Gliniak and his wife Denise of Easthampton and granddaughter Madison. Linda leaves behind many lifelong friends, including her best friend of over 60 years Mary Besko.

Linda spent many years as the bookkeeper for the family business. Anyone who knew her knows that family was her first priority. One day she offered to help her cousin Charlie who owned Charlie’s Fritter Box and Hot Dog Stand at the rotary in Easthampton. The next day she was helping out and stayed for over 20 years. She took great pride in her home and garden. A speck of dust could not be found in her home nor a weed in her lawn or garden.

She spent many summers with her family at a summer home in Sebago Lake Maine. Once her granddaughter was born, she changed her focus to being an awesome grandmother.  They spent many days together.

She will be greatly missed by her entire family and her many friends as she was the most giving person and as one of her sons said. We all lost one truly great person.
