John Potasky Jr

 John S. Potasky, Jr., 78, of Easthampton, died Sept 3, 2024, at home. John was born in Easthampton on Sept 16. 1945 the son of John and Jennie (Bloch) Potasky Sr.  John attended local schools and graduated from EHS Class of 1963. John went on to UMass and graduated in 1967.  He later received his master’s from Springfield College.   He was employed by EHS for many years. After retiring from teaching he spent many years driving Van Pools. He retired from driving in 2021.

John was an outstanding student and athlete. He graduated high in his class. He was captain of the varsity basketball team. He loved to play golf. He had a hole in one at Southampton Country Club. His hobbies included following  horse racing and the Boston Red Sox.

 He is survived by his brother Richard and his sister, Mary Mullen and her husband Dennis and their two children, Shawn Mullen and Andrew Mullen.  A Graveside Service will be Saturday, Oct 5th at 11 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Cemetery of Easthampton.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Easthampton Scholarship Find in John’s memory
