Gordon “Butch” MacDonald,76, of Westhampton died Monday January 11, in his home. He was born in Northampton the son of Leo and Alice (Mandeville) MacDonald. He attended the former Annunciation School and Smith Vocational School , Northampton. He was employed for 45 years as Head Mechanic by Northampton Housing Authority. Gordon served in the US Army 10th Infantry and was discharged in 1964 as a rank of SGT. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and gardening, puzzle building and trips with his family.
He and his wife of fifty eight years made their home in Westhampton since 1963.
Gordon is survived by his wife Aline (Patenaude) MacDonald, three sons Robert MacDonald and wife Nance , Raymond MacDonald all of Westhampton, Roy MacDonald and wife Dede of South Hadley, two brothers Leo MacDonald and wife Ruth Ellen of Virginia, Edward MacDonald and wife Ann of Granby, three sisters Pauline Delisle of Florida, Leona Clark of Oregon and Shirley Plowucha and husband John of Easthampton and five Grandchildren. Gordon was predeceased by two sisters Janet Triplett and Beverly MacDonald and one grandson David MacDonald.
Services with Military Honors , will be Saturday January 16, at 12noon in the Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Easthampton.
Visiting hours will be from 10am until the services at 12 noon.
