George W. Costigan, 73, of Northampton died Tuesday Sept. 9, in Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton. He was born in Pulaski,
Virginia on Nov. 16, 1940 the son of the late James and Mattie (Bandy)
Costigan. He attended schools in Virginia and coming to this area in 1950’s.
He was employed by E and J Distributors , now Polep, Inc. of Northampton, retiring in 2003.
His hobbies were Bingo, watching Red Sox and Patriots, playing with his Granddaughter and Great Granddaughter.
George is survived by his wife Esther (Hayward) Costigan, two sons David Jardine and wife Colleen of Amherst and Ralph Jardine of Easthampton, three daughters Helen Burgielewicz and husband Danny of Easthampton, Sheila Jardine of Hadley, Sharon Jardine of Florida, one sister Jane Kline of Virginia, two grandchildren Jonathan and wife Danielle and Shannon, two great grandchildren Brooke and Faith. He was predeceased by two sisters Ruby and Ruth, five brothers Tom, Frank, James, Hubert and Delarce (Bob).
Memorial services will be Friday Sept. 12, at 11 am in Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Easthampton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10am until time of the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
