Gary Bednarz, 52 of Easthampton unexpectedly passed away at his home on June 22.
Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Gary was the son of the late Ronald and Louise (Boulais) Bednarz. He graduated from Smith Vocational High School. After graduation, Gary worked at several companies with his longest tenure at Serv-U of Northampton, where he worked until the company closed.
Gary was an avid sports fan who loved cheering on all of Boston’s professional teams He was an especially devoted supporter of Springfield hockey, faithfully following the Springfield Indians, the Falcons and the Thunderbirds. A proud season ticket holder for many years, he rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on his team.
Gary will be remembered for his quick sense of humor, his loyalty to those he cared about, and his big heart. Whether her was sharing a laugh, cheering from the stands, or simply spending time with those closest to him, he left a lasting impression on those that knew him.
He is survived by his sister, Christine Bednarz.
A memorial service open to the public will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Church in Easthampton on Saturday, July 11, at 11am.
