Southampton-Frederick Klich, 62, of Southampton, MA passed away peacefully on November 21st after a long battle with cancer. He was born to Fred and Dorothy (Stasiowski) Klich on March 6, 1960, in Springfield, MA. Fred attended West Springfield schools and graduated from West Springfield High School in 1978. He later graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a degree in electrical engineering. He had a 30 year long career as an engineer for L3harris of Northampton.
Family always came first, and he took extreme pride in the accomplishments of his children. He was always ready to cheer them on in sports or help them learn the life skills they would need as adults.
Fred was known as the person you would go to if you needed anything repaired. He had a different way of looking at things and a philosophy of perseverance. He especially liked working on cars and it was not unusual for him to go out of his way to help those stranded by the side of the road. One such time, Fred came upon a stranger standing by his broken-down car, he explained to Fred that he had a family emergency and had to get home, so Fred let him take his own car and stayed back to make the repairs.
Fred had a lifelong love of the outdoors, he especially enjoyed gardening, cross country skiing and playing tennis. He also loved his community and spent many years coaching soccer, basketball, and softball.
Frederick is survived by his wife Sandra (Alessio) Klich, sons Derek ( Kiersten), Evan ( Julia) and his daughter Christina. He also leaves 2 beautiful grandchildren, Mila and Camden along with his twin brother Roderick.
