Evelyn (Dean) Billings
July 21, 1935- January 23, 2025

Evelyn was the daughter of Gordon and Margret (McCarthy) Dean.   Evelyn was born and raised in Fair Haven, Vermont.  She attended the Fair Haven Schools, graduating 1953 Attended Castleton State graduating 1957.  She had a master degree in Education from SUNY Potsdam, NY and Master’s in Phycology from Westfield State College.   Evelyn taught in Millbury, VT, Burlington, CT and Boulder, CO   She worked for the Westfield Library in the Children’s department for 14 years.   She and her husband of 66 years, Gilbert ran two bed and breakfasts,   Red Shutters, York Maine for 13 years and Lupine House, Florence MA for 10 years
Evelyn is pre deceased by her daughter Linda Billings (1978) and her husband Gilbert Billings (2024)
Evelyn is survived by her daughter Julie (Billings) Jernstrom (and partner Richard Netto)   She  is also survived by two sisters in law,  Nancy Eddy of South Royalton, VT, and Edie Billings of Barre, Vt. In addition, she is survived by a niece, Kris Eddy of Alexandria, Virginia, nephew, Kevin Eddy (Stephanie), of Milton, VT and their son & daughter, Fletcher Eddy and Johanna Eddy.
A memorial service will be held February 8th  at 2:30 pm at the Unitarian Society of Northampton & Florence, 220 Main Street, Northampton, MA 01060.
