Hadley, MA — Edith M. Matusek, 95, of Hadley, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022. She was one of ten children of Amelia and Joseph Malinoski of Leeds. Edith was pre-deceased by her husband of 62 years, Jacob G. Matusek, who passed away in 2009. She leaves two daughters, Joyce Skypeck of Southampton, and Karen DePace and husband Mark, of Northampton. She also leaves 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, as well as her sister Gerry Scheel of Florence, and several nieces and nephews. Edith graduated from Northampton High School and was employed as a telephone operator at New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. in Northampton and Easthampton. She also worked for The Northampton School for Girls and Smith College in the same capacity. Edith belonged to Most Holy Redeemer Parish in Hadley. There will be no calling hours and the funeral is private. Mitchell Funeral Home of Easthampton is entrusted with the arrangements.
