Doris (Campbell) Kovitch, 94 years old, passed away May 9, 2023. Doris was born on May 29, 1928, in Easthampton and was the daughter of Merrill and Claudia (Courtemanche) Campbell. She was raised in Easthampton and attended local schools. She married her late husband Robert Kovitch, they made their home in Easthampton and later in Connecticut and returned to Easthampton.
Doris was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Easthampton. Doris enjoyed singing in the choir when she was young, loved to Bowl and play Bingo with the seniors. She crocheted many afgans and doll clothes for her grandchildren and was an avid Jigsaw puzzle maker even at 94. Doris was a strong hard-working woman. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Doris is survived by her daughter Jeanne and husband Fran Charron of Easthampton, her daughter Therese and husband Jerry Labrie of Colorado and stepson David Kovitch of Virginia, 10 grandchildren and 25 Great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one sister Simone Drapeau, brothers Andre, Arthur, Gerard, Armand, Ralph, Maurice, Eugene, Rev. Robert Campbell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 12noon in Our Lady of The Valley Church followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Northampton. Calling hours will be May 15, from 10 to 11am at Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Easthampton. Donation in Doris memory may be given to Alzheimer’s Association.
