Donald Edward Fox

Donald E. Fox of Westhampton, MA passed on January 21, 2026, in Springfield, MA. Born May 10, 1957, to the late Robert and Alice (Henderson) Fox, Don was predeceased by his older brother Alan and is survived by his younger brothers Guy and Bob.

Growing up in Westhampton, Don was a member of the 1st class to attend all 4 years of high school at the newly constructed Hampshire Regional High School, graduating in 1975.

Don began his service to the town of Westhampton as a part-time custodian at the old Center School on North Road, and going full-time after graduation. Don was also a member of a local snow mobile club and ham radio club. And in 1979 Don joined the Westhampton Fire Department, serving until 1982 when he joined the U.S Air Force.

Don served in the Air Force from October 18, 1982, until his retirement from Hanscom Air Force Base here in Massachusetts on April 30, 2003, as a MSgt. Suring his service Don was also stationed in Texas, Georgia, Germany, England, and Japan, earning numerous medals, citations, and awards throughout his career.

After retiring from the Air Force, Don returned to Westhampton, and in 2004 rejoined the Fire Department. There he served an additional 20 years, retiring in 2024. Don also had become the attendant at the Westhampton Transfer Station where he served for more than 15 years until he passed.

Grave side service will be held at the Westhampton Center Cemetery May 9, 2026. Mitchell Funeral Home in Easthampton will oversee all the arrangements. All are welcome to attend.
