Donald Boucher Sr, Obituary

Donald J.Boucher Sr, of Northampton MA passed away on November 21, 2023 at Care One in Northampton. Donald was born on February 3, 1938 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, the son of Herbert Boucher Sr of Northampton MA and Cecelia (LaRock) Wheelock of Easthampton MA. 

Donald attended schools in Northampton, then joined the Army on his 17th birthday to serve his country. He was stationed in Bamberg, Germany.

He met his wife Constance Baker of Williamsburg MA upon returning home. They were married on October 3, 1959 at the Blessed Sacrament church in Northampton and had seven children.

Donald worked as a roofer for many years being his trade. He worked at the Cutlery in Northampton, the Fisk in Chicopee, and the Prophylactic Brush Company in Florence. As a teenager he worked at a small bowling alley in Florence where he set up the pins by hand. He retired from the Coca Cola Plant  where he worked for many years. 

Donald loved to travel, go deep sea fishing, play golf, bowling, watch football, and the news. He would take trips every year with his wife Constance. In his early years he would go deep sea fishing off of the coast of Gloucester MA. He also played golf at the Beaver Brook Country Club in Haydenville and played in a bowling league. While in the Army he won a boxing trophy.

He was predeceased by his wife Constance (Baker) Boucher and his son Robert. He is survived by his sons John, Donald Jr, Stephen, and Joseph, his daughters Susan Boucher and Catherine Boucher, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and sister Margaret (Boucher) Farrick. He was also predeceased by brothers Leonard, Herbert Jr, Robert, Norman and sister Geraldine (Boucher) Rivers.
