Dolores J. Daigle, of Easthampton, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family at Linda Manor Extended Care Facility in Leeds, MA, on July 16, 2025. Dolores was born on July 5, 1937 to Albert and Josephine (Rogalski) Rozanski in Easthampton.
Dolores met the love of her life, Robert R. Daigle (Dub), of Aldenville, MA, at a dance at Mountain Park, Holyoke. They officially became known as “Dub & Ditto”, their pet names for each other, and married in 1956. They loved to square dance and play cards with their many friends where laughter was abundant. Married to an adventurer in spirit, Dolores looked back fondly remembering how Dub would fly over their house tipping the wings of his airplane to say “hello” as she was hanging clothes on the clothesline. Dub also built a houseboat affectionately named after their first born, “The Lori Ann”, which they liked to take out on the Connecticut River.
In her younger years, Dolores helped out in her mother’s restaurant, Josephine’s Snack Bar. She went on to hairdressing school and enjoyed this profession until becoming a full-time mother to her beloved daughters.
Truly a caretaker at heart, she was a home health care aide for many years, and loved working with the elderly. After her husband passed away, a family friend approached her to take care of her first grandchild, and this was the beginning of the realization of her special calling in this life. For 40+ years she became the proprietor of Dee’s Day Care, and was the caring provider of over 70 children whom she treated like family. She loved her Polish heritage and loved to polka dance, cook Polish food, and was known by many as “Cioci Dee”.
Dolores is predeceased by her husband Robert, and their daughters Lori Ann and Sheryl Ann. She is also predeceased by her sister Gertrude (Kucharski), and adored niece and nephew, Carol Asendorf and Walt Kucharski, Jr.
She is survived by daughters Lisa (Jeffrey Post) and Lynn (Paul Korza) and her treasured grandchildren, Bethany Post, Andrew Post, Benjamin Korza, Alexander Korza, and Julianne Korza and her special niece/godchild Terry (Kucharski) Simmons. She was very proud of the fact that she was blessed with many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
The Funeral Service will be Monday July 21st at 9am at the Mitchell Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of the Valley Parish. Burial will follow in St Stanislaus Cemetery all of Easthampton. The calling hours will be July 20 th from 4 to 6pm.
The family would like to thank the special, caring staff of Linda Manor Assisted Living Memory Care where she resided for 4+ years. We would also like to acknowledge the attentive and caring staff of Linda Manor Extended Care Skilled Nursing Facility where she resided for the last three months of her life.
We truly miss our little “firecracker”.
