Diane Mazzocco of Easthampton, Massachusetts was born on April 24, 1943, and passed away on January 11, 2026. Diane leaves behind her partner, Tom Moore, brother, Phillip Kensicki and son, Marco Mazzocco. Diane was born to Stephen and Rose (née Pospisil) Kensicki and was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended St. Boniface elementary school with her three siblings, Marilyn, Steven and Phillip and then graduated from Lourdes High School. Diane’s innate curiosity and desire to learn were fostered through post high school travel agency work and then through her education at The Ohio State University. Diane went on to have a long career in education where she specialized in high school English and led the “As Schools Match Wits” (ASMW) team which competed against regional schools and was broadcast on PBS. Management of the ASMW team involved the VCR taping of all matches and then analysis of all questions asked. Her career in teaching was that of a genuine educator who spent countless hours of personal time developing lesson plans and nurturing her student’s growth. Diane was an impactful person to her family and students and helped drive people to explore opportunities they may not have otherwise done. After retiring from teaching at Ludlow High School, she continued part-time as an exam correction supervisor for Pearson education services at which she used her mastery of grammar to correct nationwide state sponsored teacher certification tests. Her life was dedicated to the help of others. And with that, we conclude this chapter and story with hopefully an error-free summary and great thoughts of a devoted Buckeye and beloved person by many.
The mass will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Easthampton on Monday January 19th, 2026, at 11:00am.
