David Allen Routhier

David Allen Routhier, 68, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022, after a decades-long battle with cancer.  His family is truly grateful for the wonderful doctors and medical care he received that gave them many additional years together. Being a father and a grandfather were David’s proudest accomplishments. 

David was born in Northampton, MA on October 26, 1953, to father Roland Routhier and mother Esther (Boivin) Routhier.  The oldest of three sons, he grew up in Easthampton, MA alongside brothers Phillip and Daniel Routhier.  The first in his family to go to college, David received his B.A. in English at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA.  David later moved to Wallingford, CT where his daughters grew up, and had a long career as a marketer in the log homes industry working for various companies across New England. 

David was predeceased by his parents, Roland Routhier and Esther (Boivin) Routhier, and brother Phillip Routhier.  He is survived by daughters, Kristina Sechko, Kathryn Rathje and husband Jason; their mother Bobbie Routhier; his grandchildren Bradley and Chase Sechko and Ryder and Regan Rathje; his brother Daniel Routhier and his sons; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many close friends who he considered family.

His family will receive relatives and friends to honor and remember his life at Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Easthampton, MA 01027, on Friday, November 4, 2022, from 9:00-11:00 am.
