David Parker Obituary

David C. Parker., 74, of Southampton, passed away on December 18, 2022, at Renaissance Manor in Holyoke surrounded by his loving family.

 

He was born in Northampton, on May 8, 1948, the son of Alexander and Ruth (Carroll) Parker. David graduated from Smith Vocational High School in 1966. After high school, David proudly served in the United States Navy.  David worked as an electrician for Elm Electric in Westfield.  

 

He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Meehan) Parker. They were married in 1971. David is also survived by his three children: William and his wife Christina; Robert and his wife Pamela; and his daughter Julie and her husband Jeffrey Dubois. Seven grandchildren: Sasha, Jessica, Alex, Grace, Casey, Collin, and Nicholas.  David is also survived by two sisters Susan Shepardson and Ellie Parker, a brother-in-law Michael Meehan.

 

David was a lifelong Southampton resident.  He was a long-time member of the Southampton volunteer Fire Department, where he was one of the first members of the EMT service. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman, a real outdoorsman.  He was a long-time member of the Easthampton Fish and Game and Treasure of the association. 

 

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 9 to 11am at Mitchell's Funeral Home in Easthampton followed by a prayer service at 11am. Burial will be private.
