Daniel Swearingen Obituary

Daniel Thomas William Swearingen, 27, of Huntington, MA, passed away unexpectedly on May 3rd, 2022 in PA.  Daniel was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on May 12, 1994 to David and Katherine (Moreno) Swearingen.   Danny attended Gateway Regional School in Huntington through 2008.  Danny's early interest in the IT field led him to Westfield Vocational Technical School in Westfield, Massachusetts where he  trained in Information Support Services &  Networking and graduated in the class of 2012.  One may say Danny went on to have a career path just as unconventional as he.  Employers, co-workers, friends and family alike, will remember Danny for how hard of a worker he was.  Whether it be with his current employer in Westfield, RWC Inc. or with his Father  on  home renovation projects, Danny always took pride in a job well done.

Danny  loved going to the beach, concerts, and festivals but he equally enjoyed exploring the nearby Hilltowns and spending time at the Knightville Dam.   Danny had tremendous love for both his brother Matt and sister Taylor and always maintained close relationships with them both, to say their loss is tremendous does not come close.

Danny was kind, charismatic, and would make friends everywhere he went. No one will ever forget his memorable smile, laugh, and witty sense of humor. Danny has always had a love for all animals, and had shown great love and care for the family dogs, Frodo and Bebeh.  What we will remember most about Danny is how much he cared for his friends and family.  Sadly,, In 2014, The Swearingen family lost their Mother and Wife, Kat, it brings the family  peace knowing they are together again. Danny was fortunate to have a very large family with many aunts, uncles and dozens of cousins to love him.   Danny was a joy to be around, his presence would light up any room he entered. His unique personality and aura could cheer up anyone even on the worst of days. Danny's willingness to extend a helping hand or an ear to listen to anyone in need was always admired by those who knew him. There are no words to express how deeply missed he will be.

Daniel was predeceased by his mother Katherine Swearingen, his Maternal Grandparents Daniel & Nancy Moreno and his Paternal Grandparents,  William Swearingen & Carrol Fee.  Daniel is survived by his father David Swearingen of Colchester, Ct, his sister, Taylor Swearingen of Westfield, his brother Matthew Swearingen of Lansing, Michigan and Matthew's son and Danny's only nephew, Henry Swearingen,  many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and too many friends to list here.

The service will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Easthampton, MA 01027 on Saturday, May 14th, 2022 from 4-6pm. The family also welcomes everyone who wishes to remember Danny to attend a Festival  of Life on Sunday, May 15th  starting at 12pm, located at Strathmore Park in Russell, MA. Please feel free to bring a dish potluck style, wear your favorite colorful outfit and have a joyful day, as Danny would’ve wanted it. An event on Facebook will be coming, please let the family know who is attending and what you will be bringing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the GoFundMe set up by Taylor Swearingen to assist with the funeral expenses, or a donation directly to the Mitchell Funeral Home.
