Southampton, MA - Daniel Thomas Hatzipetro of Southampton Ma, born on July 6, 1958 was called up to the big leagues on Sunday, June 25th, 2023.

Danny, better known as Buckwheat, Buck, or Uncle Buck was born in Springfield, Ma but moved to Southampton where he attended Hampshire Regional High School. It was at Hampshire Regional that he developed a strong passion for athletics. He would later go on to receive a degree in Sports Management from Westfield State College and later be employed as the head trainer for Hellenic College and assistant trainer for the Boston Celtics. Dan later returned to Southampton and worked at The Red Basket before opening Buckwheats Bar on RT10.

Above all else, Dan cherished time with his family and friends, notably his niece and nephews. He is survived by his mother and father, Mary and William Hatzipetro, his brother Scott, and his niece and nephews, Meghan, Mitchell, and Brenden. Calling hours will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home in Easthampton on Thursday 6/29 from 3-7pm. The funeral service will be commencing from St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Springfield on Friday 6/30 at 11am followed by burial in Southampton Center Cemetery We ask those who were impacted by Danny through the game of hockey to wear a clean hockey jersey over your attire.
