Barbara C. (Lamere) Duso, 84, of Easthampton, passed away on January
11th at Elaine Manor in Hadley surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Easthampton on November 10th 1938, the daughter of
Amos and Florence (Lewis) Lamere. She was a graduate of Easthampton
High School.
Barbara was soft spoken, kindhearted and always ready with a hug. She
had a gentle ear to talk to and always offered the most selfless and
loving input. Her door was open at any time to sit and enjoy a cup of
coffee and talk. She was the feeling of home and that everything was
going to be OK. She always walked outside to wave as you left her
driveway, never saying goodbye but instead saying "I love you. See you
later.”
She enjoyed watching birds in her backyard and was especially
delighted when a cardinal came to visit. You could usually find her in
the kitchen baking pies or putting together the best home cooked meals
to share with her family and friends. More than anything she cherished
time with her family and conversations with her loved ones. Her
greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren
and we have no doubt that she’s looking down on them now.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Duso, and her children: Gregory
Sicard and his wife, Donna; and her daughter Luann Caputo and her
husband, Victor. She leaves behind three grandchildren Nicole and her fiancé Seth,
Tony and his wife Cristina and Julia, as well as two great grandchildren Brooklynand Wrenly. She is also survived by her brother, Alfred Lamere, a niece and several nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Erwin Lamere, and son, Kevin Sicard.
She was kind and funny, and she was one tough lady. She will be
missed more than anyone could know.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
A donation in her memory can be made to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hampshire County. https://cachampshire.org
