Andrew W. Skorupski
1949-2022
We have lost a remarkable man. Andrew W. Skorupski died suddenly on December 2, 2022. He was born to Rita (nee White) and Andrew W. Skorupski, Sr. on August 3, 1949, attended Hatfield schools and graduated from American International College with a degree in Accounting. He worked at Chartpak for many years prior to investing in a multifaceted company in Minneapolis.
He enthusiastically coached youth sports for the Southampton Youth Athletic Association and was active in the organization as president. He also served as a member of the Southampton Zoning Board of Appeals. Upon his retirement, he began a ten year stint of substitute teaching in local schools where he regaled students with stories of his world-wide travels and life experiences. Andy was a true Renaissance man, with many talents and areas of knowledge. He loved nature, history, and chats on the front porch with friends.
Married for 51 years to his devoted wife, Janine (Wierzbicki) Skorupski, he leaves his proudest legacy: his three loving children and six grandchildren.
Sara Eichstaedt (David) of Southwick, Andrea Carmody (David) of Southampton, and Marc Skorupski (Melissa), of Wakefield. His pride and joy include: Davis and Andrew Eichstaedt; Nina and Evan Carmody; and Leah and Ryan Skorupski.
He leaves two brothers, Ed Skorupski (Amy) of Greenfield and John Skorupski (Linda) of Florida. He will be missed by extended family members as well as his close, lifelong friend John Wilkes, Sr. of Hatfield. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Rita Skorupski, a brother Thomas Skorupski, and a sister, RoseAnn Martino.
The family would like to thank his team of doctors, especially Dr. Robert Fishman. Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 1-3 at the Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park St. Easthampton, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the organization of one’s choice. Think of Andy under the light of a full moon and cherish the memories.
