Andrew “Andy” Robert Johnson
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Andrew Robert Johnson, 55, of Easthampton. Born in Westfield on October 4, 1969, he was the beloved son of the late Kenneth and Patricia Johnson. Andy passed away peacefully on February 5 at Baystate Medical Center with his siblings and best friends at his side. He graduated from Easthampton High School in 1987, where he played for the Easthampton Hockey League. He attended Westfield State University, studying Criminal Justice. He worked as a correctional officer in Somers, CT for several years.
Andy will be remembered for his kind heart, generosity, infectious laughter, and love for his family and their gatherings, where they would play his favorite card game “crickcrat.” He was an avid Boston Bruins, Red Sox and Dallas Cowboys fan. Andy will be missed dearly, and his spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of his loved ones and the many lives he touched.
He is survived by two brothers, Richard and Chad Johnson; one sister, Shannon, and her husband Mark Gravel, all of Easthampton. nieces and nephews; Austin Johnson, Shane Gravel, Meagan Gravel, Ryan Johnson, April and her husband Artie Hill, great-nieces; Mia and Aria.He is also survived by several extended family members; his best friend and angel Roberta Parker and her family of Easthampton. He was predeceased by his loving parents, whom he will be looking over us with.
The family would like to thank the Easthampton response team, ED and ICU staff at Baystate Medical Center.
Calling hours will be held at Mitchell Funeral Home in Easthampton on Saturday, February 22, 2025 4-6, followed by a prayer service. Burial will be held at a future date in Spring.
Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Boston Bruins attire.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to the Mitchell Funeral Home, and or family to help with service costs.
