Allyn Jane "AJ" (MacKenzie) Morin

Allyn Jane “AJ” (MacKenzie) Morin., 68, of Easthampton, passed away on Jan 14, at home surrounded by her loving family.

 She was born in Portsmouth VA., on July 17 1954, the daughter of Wallace and Betty ( Blackmore ) MacKenzie. AJ graduated from Malden High School in 1972. AJ then went to Northeastern University and graduated in 1974 and later graduated from UMass Amherst in 1983 with a BA in communications. AJ worked as an Ultrasound Specialist for CDH for more than 20 years.                                       

 An avid music lover, AJ especially loved The Beatles. She enjoyed vacations with her sisters and friends and sitting on the beach with her friend Jane. She enjoyed art, and especially loved visiting the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Those who knew her loved her. Her witty sense of humor and kind demeanor will be missed by all.

She is survived by her husband Ronald. They were married in 1988. AJ is also survived by her daughter, Samantha Morin of Easthampton, her sister Deborah Ortega of Menifee Ca., and loving nieces and nephews. Her sister Bonnie MacKenzie predeceased her.

 Calling Hours will be held on Saturday Jan 21 at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Easthampton from 3 to 5 pm.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring.
