Alice Virginia (Ginger) Brewer passed away peacefully on January 1,2026. Born May 30, 1936, in Carbondale PA to the late Grant W. Lewis and Emily L. (Brown) Lewis. Ginger grew up in Endicott NY and graduated from Union Endicott High School, NY in 1954. Ginger graduated from Holyoke Community College in 1989 with a degree in Computer Information Systems.
She loved watching the birds that visited her backyard feeders while she read her Bible. She loved shopping and visiting with friends. She loved to travel and her favorite was a cruise to Alaska. She loved to cook and bake and would pay her landscaper with cookies which he quickly accepted. She loved God and family with everything she had. She was very active at Mountain View Baptist Church, where she enjoyed working in the nursery and loved fellowship with her church family, always happy to help with anything if needed.
Ginger was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Charles B. Brewer and her siblings, Richard D. Lewis, Cynthia L. (Lewis) Sefton, and Ruth A. (Lewis) Dunn.
She leaves 4 daughters, Kathy A. Campbell and husband Edward from Holyoke, Penny L. (Krynicki) Rud and husband George from Holyoke, Lisa M. (Theroux) Lightfoot and husband David from Southwick and Jennifer L. (Biron) Grant from Zebulon, North Carolina . She adored her 7 grandchildren, George (Buddy) Krynicki and his beloved Nora McDonough, Emily Krynicki, Holly (Theroux) Perry and her husband Steven, Michael Theroux, Matthew Biron and wife Jess, Elijah Biron and wife Megan, Timothy Biron and wife Nicole and her 9 great-grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Mountain View Baptist Church, 310 Apremont Hwy, Holyoke, MA on Saturday January 17, 2026, at 11am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mountain View Baptist Church, Holyoke MA or New England Hospice.
