Adela (Szulinski) Furtek

Adela Furtek died on April 23, 2014 at the age of 96 under the care of compassionate and dedicated staff at Linda Manor Extended Care Facility. Born in Holyoke, March 10, 1918 to immigrant parents, Teofil and Feliksa Szulinski from Poland , she attended Mater Dolorosa School and Holyoke High. She worked as a stitcher at Ladies Suit factory in Holyoke and Ladies Undergarment in Chicopee. After marrying, she lived in Easthampton and raised five children. She will be remembered  for her selflessness and generosity. She was a joy to be with and her goal in life was to make people laugh, which she accomplished every day.

Her husband Henry died in 1991. She was predeceased by her sisters Pauline, Stella and Zita, and brothers Chester and Charles. She leaves her sons Henry Jr. from Presque Isle, ME., Robert from N. Las Vegas, NV., Daniel and his wife Cynthia from Easthampton, and daughters Barbara Demers and her husband Russ from Dunedin, FL. and Gloria Gagnon from Easthampton. She also leaves five grandchildren, seven Great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  

There are no calling hours. Burial will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
