Music by The Piano Brothers

It is with great loss and sadness that our family reports the passing of our beloved Marie Fiat. We could spend this time regaling you with the accomplishments and commitments of Marie. How she rarely met a committee she didn’t join and eventually lead, or a country she wouldn’t travel to. How she served in the Red Hat Society, Helping Hand Society, Highland Valley Elder Services board of directors, various committees at Riverside Industries, served on the Council on Aging board, and served in her church regularly, amongst others. How she led this region in women in business well ahead of her time, creating opportunities for those following behind her. How she overcame the worst of foster care, was separated from all of her siblings, and as an adult, found them and reunited them all. She wrote a book, held art showings, and was creative and thoughtful in all she did. But most of all, we want to share with you her heart.   Marie loved those around her fiercely in word and in action. She gathered friends around the world, as people were drawn to her warmth. She was our rock, our support system, a woman of endless giving of herself. We will miss her profoundly, but she will carry on in each of us in what she has taught us - to love fully even when you have been hurt, to care more about others than yourself, to live life joyfully and with an open heart. She now rests peacefully in heaven with her Lord and Savior. She is survived and missed by her husband Michel, her three daughters, their children and families, and 11 great grand-children. Thanks be to God for our time with this wonderful woman here on earth – we have treasured her. A service will be held February 29th, 2020 at 11am at the Easthampton Congregational Church. All are welcome to join a gathering at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers, you may send a donation to the Rockridge Assisted Living Facility in her name.
