On Friday, January 25th, Jean Elizabeth

(nee Koeber) Mills, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 90.  Jean was born in Northampton, June 1, 1928 to Charles and Gladys (nee Bilger) Koeber.  She attended local schools and earned her R.N. from the Cooley Dickinson School of Nursing.  She worked for many years at Holyoke Medical Center and in private duty care.

Jean was a lively woman who cared deeply for her family. She was an avid birdwatcher, gardner and voracious reader.  She was a member of the Easthampton Congregational Church and the  Red Hats, where she made many friends who meant so much to her.  In earlier years, Jean looked forward to her annual trip to the ocean with her sister, Judy, where they would sit on the rocks to enjoy the waves, eat as much lobster as they could and enjoy their time together.  She felt that her greatest accomplishment in life was raising her three sons and she was so proud of each of them.  She leaves a space that will never be filled in many hearts.

Jean leaves her three loving sons, Warren Gary and his life partner Michelle Lemoine; Charles  and his wife Carol; and George and his life partner Gail Sorenson; her five cherished grandchildren Naomi Murdock, Amanda Faraone, Eric Mills, Jimmy Mills and Emily McRobbie; her four beloved great grand daughters, Elizabeth, Addie, Madison and Rosalie and numerous nieces and nephews.   In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters, her daughter in law, Sally Mills and her dearly loved granddaughter Katie Mills.

A wake will be held Wednesday, January 30th, from 5-7pm at Mitchells’ funeral home in Easthampton.  A funeral service will be held at the Easthampton Congregational Church on Thursday, January 31st at 10:00 AM.

Charlie, Jim and family, I’m very sad for your loss, , I personally know words can not heal your broken hearts but remember this... Death leaves a heartache no one can heal , but your love for her leaves a memory no one can steal 😇
