Irma Gould Warnock, of Easthampton, died at the age of 92 on June 10, 2017 at Quabbin Valley Health Care in Athol, Mass where she had been a resident for a short time. She was born on the family farm in Shelburne, Mass on December 8, 1924 where she was number 9 of 10 children. She attended school in Shelburne, graduating from Arms Academy in 1942. Irma met her husband Richard when he came to the farm as a hired hand. They were married in 1944 and spent their early years in Middlebury, Ct where Richard was a herdsman on a dairy farm and returned to Easthampton to take over his family's farm in 1950. There they raised 4 children.
Irma and Dick were avid square dancers in the 60’s and spent many a night twirling with the Belles and Beaus. Irma was also active in the Easthampton 4-H program leading a sewing club, the Buzzing Needles and serving as the chair of the local program. She and Dick were busy gardeners cultivating numerous flower beds and his overly abundant vegetable garden from which she stocked the family's freezer. Irma was also an avid stitcher and created many beautiful embroidery and stitchery works and crocheted many an afghan for her grandchildren.
Irma and Dick took special delight in their 9 grandchildren, hosting many family get-togethers while they were growing up.
She was one of the keepers of the Gould genealogy book which documents her and her siblings as the 15th generation of descendants of Captain David and Sarah Green Gould. She took great pride in her involvement in the annual Gould Reunion. She was also dedicated with Dick to the upkeep of the monument and the daily display of our American flag at the D.A.R. memorial commemorating the burial ground following the Pascommuck Massacre in 1704 near their house.
In her later years she participated in the Arms Academy class reunions, proudly toting her class's 1942 sign in the parade.
Irma was employed for several years at Trico Vendors in Easthampton working in food prep and later as a housekeeper at the Lathrop Home in Northampton, retiring in the early '80's
Irma is survived by her 4 children Richard and his wife Judi, of Waterford, CT, Judith Budelman and her husband Peter, of Cedar Grove, NJ, William of Turner's falls and Rebecca Peterson and her husband Alan, of  Leyden, 9 grandchildren Jill Jacques, Holly Beaucage, Christopher Budelman, Eli Budelman, David Budelman, Joshua Warnock, Joel Warnock, Bethany Saunders-Warnock, Karin Parks and 5 great grand children and many nieces and nephews, a sister Phyllis Nichols of California, 3 sisters in law Millicent Warnock, Gloria Warnock, both of Easthampton and Helen Gould  of Shelburne.
