Helen A. Szczypta, 87, of Southampton died Saturday April 2, in Calvin Coolidge Nursing and Rehab Center, Northampton. She was born in Southampton April 12, 1928 the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Dolega) Szczypta. She attended Southampton Schools and was a graduate of Easthampton High School. Helen was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Easthampton and now a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Easthampton, she was also a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. Helen was employed by the former Easthampton Rubber Thread Co., retiring several years ago.
 
Helen is survived by two sisters, Shirley A. Szczypta and Jeannette F. Szczypta both of Southampton, several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.  Helen was predeceased by five brothers Stanley, Walter, Edward, Henry and Max Szczypta and two sisters Nellie Golash and Stella Banas.
 
Funeral services will be Thursday April 7th, at 9 am from the Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Easthampton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of the Valley Church, with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery all of Easthampton.
Visiting hours at Mitchell Funeral Home will be Wednesday April 6th from 4pm - 7pm.
In lieu of flowers gifts in Helen’s memory may be given to St.  Stanislaus Kostka Scholarship Fund, c/o Shirley Szczypta, Treasurer, 68 College Highway, Southampton,MA01073.
