 SOUTHAMPTON

   Matthew Vincent Walker, age 57, a resident of Southampton MA, passed away on Saturday October 17 due to heart failure with complications at Bay State Medical Center in Springfield.

   Matt was born in Pittsfield MA, on August 10, 1958, the son of Bruce and Verna Walker of Southampton. Matt spent his youth in Dalton MA, Clarks Summit PA, Liverpool NY, and Carlisle MA. He moved with his family to Southampton in 1972. He graduated from Hampshire Regional High School with the class of 1976. In 1977 he moved to Easthampton, MA where he began working as a machinist at Tubed Products until his retirement in 2005, when he moved back to Southampton. When Matt wasn't working, he could be found driving about enjoying one of his many classic cars.

   Matt was predeceased by his brother Steven Walker of Las Vegas NV in 2014. Matthew is survived by his parents, Bruce and Verna Walker of Southampton, his sisters, Laurie Walker of Leeds, MA, and Patti McHenry and her husband Bob of Exeter, NH. He is also survived by his brother, Bruce Walker, Jr. and his wife Mary of Southampton. He will be missed by his seven loved nieces and nephews, Lauren, Bruce III, Jonathan Walker, Christopher Walker, Ryan Walker, Taylor Nicholson and Walker McHenry.

   As the family has wished, there will be no calling hours. Interment will be arranged by the Mitchell Funeral Home staff. A private ceremony will be at the Southampton Center Cemetery at the convenience of the family. We would like to thank the staff of the Bay State Medical Center in Springfield, MA for their thoughtful and excellent care of Matthew over the recent years.  Donation in Matthew memory made be made to a charity of ones choice.   Mitchellcofuneralhome.com
