Irene Weidhaas, 94, of Easthampton died peacefully with her family at her side on December 12th. She was born in Easthampton, she was the daughter of Emil and Irene (Reopel) Tourville. She grew up in Easthampton and was a graduate of Easthampton High School Class of 1938. She worked in the Pharmacy at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital for many years before retiring.

Irene was the widow of George Weidhaas. She leaves three daughters, Sue Etkind and her husband Paul of Grantham, New Hampshire, Gail Rivard and her husband Herve of Portland, CT., Dawn Koloszyc and her husband Richard of Worthington, MA and her grandchildren, Richard, Brian, Kimberly and Molly. She also leaves four great grandchildren, Kate, Allison, Avery and Barnaby, also one sister Lorraine Ball. She was predeceased by two brothers, Leo and Edward Tourville.

Irene’s greatest joy was time spent with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, resilient spirit and independence.

Funeral services will be Wednesday December 17, at 11 am in Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Easthampton. Visiting time will be from 10 am to 11 am. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers gifts in Irene’s memory may be given to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street. Springfield, MA01104.
