Kathryn (Kurtz) Hamelin, 71, of Florence, passed away peacefully Wednesday at the home of her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Margaret Hamelin of Easthampton. She was employed at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Leeds for twenty years before she retired in 1996.  She then spent many gratifying years in Florida with her husband, where she loved the beach and the warm weather.  They later relocated back to Florence. Kathryn enjoyed bowling, reading, gardening and volunteering, as well as her pets.

Dear family of Kathy: I am so sorry for your loss. Kathy and I spent many happy hours playing with our paper dolls when we were kids in West Farms. I hadn't seen her since we were teenagers, but I remember those good times very well.
You are in my thoughts at this sad time. Sincerely, Debbie MacDonald
