George B. Weidhaas 89, died in February 2009 in Winston-Salem , NC., He was born in Easthampton Dec. 19, 1919 the son of late Frederick and Elizabeth Weidhaas. He was educated in Easthampton Schools, the former Northampton Commercial College and attended Oklahoma University. He was a WW11 Veteran  and after graduating  from officer training he received the rank of 2nd Lt.. He later served in the Korean conflict and received the rank of 1st Lt. George became Director of Customer Services for the former United Elastic Corp. and J.P. Stevens after he and his wife Eleanor made their home in Stuart, VA. in 1972.

Eleanor Lucy Marciniak Weidhaas  94, died  February 2013 in Martinsville, VA.  Eleanor was born Jan. 17, 1919   in Easthampton the daughter of the late Antoni and Lucy Marciniak. She worked as a Social Worker for the Welfare Dept. in Easthampton. They are survived by two sons Allen Frederick Weidhaas and wife Caroline Lester Weidhaas of Stuart, VA, Mark George Weidhaas and wife Denise Wayne Weidhaas of Venice, FL., three grandchildren, Sara Weidhaas Gram and husband Timothy, Karl Weidhaas and wife Jennifer and Clinton Weidhaas, three great-grandchildren William and Georgia Gram and Elizabeth Weidhaas, one brother Robert Weidhaas of Easthampton and two sisters Ruth W. Cykowski and Elizabeth Yarra both of Easthampton and niece Jane (Marciniak) Latka and husband Stanley of Cape Cod.

Graveside service for George and Eleanor will be June 18 at 11 am in Brookside Cemetery, Easthampton.
