Richard A. Witherell 60, of Westhampton died suddenly Wednesday June 5,  in Cooley Dickinson Hospital. He was born in Northampton July 2, 1952 the son of Bertha (Larocque) Witherell and the late Merrill Witherell. He attended Westhampton Schools and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1970. He received an honorable discharge from the Army National Guard in 1977.  He had been an employee of Tubed Products of Easthampton. Richard was a member of Westhampton Congregational Church and the American Legion Post 28 in Florence MA in Northampton.
Besides his mother in Westfield ,Richard is survived by one son Joshua Witherell, daughter in law, Deanna of Northfield, two daughters Jessica Witherell of South Hadley and Meghan Delisle of Northampton, three sisters Marilyn Witherell  of Westhampton, Kathleen Gainey of Fla, and Tammy Brakey,  a brother in law David Brakey of Easthampton, sister in law Linda Witherell of Westfield three grandchildren and many aunts,uncles,nieces and nephew.
He was predeceased by one brother Raymond Witherell .
Richard enjoyed helping others, biking ,fishing and watching the Red Sox and New England Patriots
Funeral services will be Wednesday June 12, at 10 am in Westhampton Congregational Church followed by burial in Center Cemetery, Westhampton.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday June 11, at the Mitchell Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Easthampton from 4-7pm.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the American Legion Post 28 63 Riverside Drive Florence Ma 01062
